hey,

i recently installed xubuntu hardy too, great piece of software. most of it works out of the box, except for the wireless (needs downloading madwifi drivers) and some Fn keys. I'm also having problems getting hibernation/suspend to work, any luck with that? worked like a charm on gutsy.

other than that, like Ian said, haven't had the wired network bug, weird.

Hello,
 I recently made the same upgrade (well from xubuntu to fresh hardy ubuntu install), and also had to do the battery thing, hehe.
 My two issues are a lack of webcam (have checked that its enabled in bios, and os from start->finish trick)... green light comes on but no picture in either metacity or compiz. Also pulseaudio seems to mess up a few things like skype, which i have seen in the forums but haven't been able to fix :(

I can honestly say I've not seen that bug with the wired network! Quite bizarre. I've had a few problems with sound on my Eee in earlier Hardy builds, but since the Beta everything's working perfectly.

@Sam & @ccm: I think what Sam meant was that Compiz stops you dragging a window up beyond the top bar in GNOME, hence you can't get to the bottom of windows > 480px tall. In the full Compiz settings manager (this may not be a default install in Ubuntu, can't remember) go to the first category (Configuration?) and there should be an option called "Constrain Y". Turn that off and you'll be able to drag a window higher than the bar.

I believe there was some legal wrangling over the Atheros drivers that meant the support briefly got into madwifi (hence the version you can download) before being removed again. I may be wrong.

@Sam:

For the windows issue: Try pressing "Alt" and while holding it left click on the lower part of a window and then while also holding the left mouse button move it freely. This should work.

I dont know how to report bugs yet. :/

But here is the obvious:
- You cant move the windows above the taskbar when Compiz is enabled.
- Hotkeys and Wireless still have to be downloaded
- Boottime is much too long with 1:30
